Follow basic MLOK accessory practices. With a dab of blue Loctite on the button screw grip the SHORT end of the supplied 1/8″ allen key and tighten. See slideshow below. This ensures proper torque is applied. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! Over-torqueing can result in cracking the main plastic body (this is a sling retention device not an optic mount!). The shock cord is sent intentionally long so the end user can cut to fit their specific application. Tighten the free end of the shock cord (with the shock cord inserted) in the Sling Control tab using the supplied wrench. The set screw should be flush with the top of the tab like the factory installed screw, and the shock cord should be held tight. Slideshow below shows cord routing options.
